HOW SAFE IS PAINTBALL TO PLAY?List Item 1
Safety is first at Wasaga Beach Paintball
Many people are nervous about playing paintball or letting their children play. Paintball is actually one of the safest sports that you can be involved in. Less than 1 in 4,000 people who play paintball will get injured. That's safer than swimming, golf, or even bowling! When paintball is played properly and the safety rules are followed, it's highly unlikely for anyone to get seriously injured.
Safety is our primary concern here at WBPA and we do our utmost to ensure safe, fair play. Every new player that comes to play watches a safety video that goes over the basic rules of paintball safety and these rules are explained again by the referees that are taking care of that group. Each group has a referee that will stay with that group for the day, organize the games, and keep an eye on things to make sure that everyone is playing safely, fairly, and having fun. Players who refuse to follow the safety rules will be asked to leave.
-
WHAT DOES A PAINTBALL REFEREE DO?
One of the referee's tasks is to make sure that masks must remain on at all times while on the playing field and that barrel covers remain on when the players are off the field to prevent injuries if a trigger is accidentally pulled in the safety area.
These are the two most important rules in paintball and as was mentioned above, if these two simple rules are followed, it's very unlikely to get injured playing paintball.
-
WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR TO PLAY PAINTBALL?
It is important to wear shoes or boots with support and a good grip while running as it's easy to slip in the woods or on hills.
You receive one of our camo jackets to wear for the day. You will want to wear pants instead of shorts. Supportive footwear is necessary. Additional things you may want to bring - hat, thin gloves, neck wear.
-
DOES PAINTBALL HURT?
People frequently ask how much it hurts to get shot with a paintball. This depends on where you get hit and from what range. It will sting, but the most that you'll get from a paintball hit is a small welt, bruise, or red mark that fades within a few days.
-
CAN I BRING DRUGS OR ALCOHOL?
Drugs and alcohol are not permitted at Wasaga Beach Paintball. Anyone deemed to be impaired will not be allowed to play and may be asked to leave.
-
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PLAY PAINTBALL?
Paintball is available to players ages 10+. If you have a child under that age of 10, we do offer other activities including Low Impact Paintball, which is the same thrill as paintball without the sting. Low Impact Paintball starts at age 8+. Nerf wars start at age 5+
